Linear Freight provides customers with a limited warranty against loss or damage to goods while in transit and while the goods are in the possession of Linear Freight or its authorised agents. This warranty is referred to as the FreightSafe Warranty and is subject to the limitations and exclusions set out below.
The FreightSafe Warranty applies to all consignments booked under a customer’s account number, as well as cash sale consignments where applicable.
Any claim for loss or damage to goods (“Claim”) under the FreightSafe Warranty must be submitted online using the claim form available through the Linear Freight customer portal.
The Customer must notify Linear Freight in writing within the following timeframes:
Damaged Goods (noted on delivery):
Where damage is recorded on the Proof of Delivery (POD) or otherwise notified to Linear Freight, within 14 days of delivery.
Damaged Goods (not noted on delivery):
Where goods were signed for as received in good condition, within 48 hours of delivery.
Non-Delivery:
Within 14 days from the dispatch date of the consignment.
Only one (1) claim per consignment may be submitted.
The Customer must provide documentary evidence acceptable to FreightSafe (the appointed claims administrator) to substantiate the value of the goods, such as a supplier invoice or proof of manufacturing cost.
Where a claim is approved, Linear Freight reserves the right to settle the claim by issuing a credit note to the Customer’s account.
Claims will only be paid once all outstanding amounts owed by the Customer to Linear Freight have been paid and the account is within agreed trading terms.
The FreightSafe Warranty is subject to the following limits:
Coverage applies only to loss of or damage to the goods themselves.
Consequential losses (including loss of profit, business interruption, or indirect loss) are not covered.
The maximum amount payable per claim is the lesser of:
$250 (FreightSafe Warranty limit);
The value of any additional warranty purchased; or
The cost price of the goods, supported by acceptable documentary evidence.
GST and freight charges are excluded from all claim calculations. Any claim payment made by Linear Freight is exclusive of GST.
Where a claim for damaged goods is paid in full, Linear Freight reserves the right to take possession of the goods as salvage and dispose of them at its discretion.
Linear Freight will not be liable for claims in any of the following circumstances:
The FreightSafe Warranty charge has not been paid.
The claimant is not the account holder (unless the consignment was a cash sale).
The claim is submitted outside the required timeframes.
An unendorsed Proof of Delivery is held by Linear Freight.
The goods are Excluded Goods, including but not limited to:
currency, jewellery, precious metals or stones, antiques, artworks, drugs, weapons, live animals or plants, perishable goods, tobacco products, valuable documents, or glass and glass-related items.
Damage to second-hand or used goods.

Inadequate packaging or failure to use original manufacturer packaging (or equivalent).
Goods that were not properly labelled.
Goods determined to be defective prior to transit.
Damage or failure that could not reasonably have been caused by carriage.
Events beyond Linear Freight’s control, including but not limited to strikes, pandemics, natural disasters, war, terrorism, fire, flood, government actions, or similar force majeure events.
Loss or damage caused by derailments, collisions, or overturning.
Deliveries made to post office boxes, roadside drops, or postal mailboxes.
Linear Freight reserves the right to amend these Freight Warranty terms at any time without prior notice. Updated terms will apply to all consignments booked after the amendment date.
